A Short History of Grishko

A brief history of the Grishko Company, maker of Grishko tap shoes other dancing shoes, and dancewear.

The Grishko Company was founded in Moscow, Russia 1989 by businessman Nikolai Grishko. He was inspired to make dancing shoes by his former ballerina wife. Originally the company was focused on making pointe shoes for ballerinas but they later began making many different types of dancing shoes, including tap shoes, character shoes, jazz and contemporary dance shoes, ballroom dancing shoes, and shoes for acrobatics and gymnastics. Grishko also offers a line of dancewear.

Today the company has several factories throughout Europe and its products are sold all over the world. Grishko has established partnerships with dance related companies in Russia, the United States, Eastern Europe, Japan, Korea, and other countries and regions.

Grishko operates five factories, four in Russia and one in Macedonia.

Grishko has five mono-brand stores, located in:
- Moscow
- St. Petersburg
- Kiev
- Prague
- Paris (flagship store)
