Awards and Reviews:
"Swing Time" was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress because of its "cultural, historic, or aesthetic" significance. Several critics consider the film include several of Astaire and Roger's best dance numbers. The film's song "The Way You Look Tonight" received the "Best Original Song" Academy Award and Fred Astaire's recording of the tune became a hit record. The Hermes pan received the "Best Dance Direction" Academy Award for the number "Bojangles of Harlem".
