The idea for a Hollywood Walk of Fame was formed in the 1950's and
the first stars were installed in 1960.
The Walk of Fame was established was to create permanent,
public, monuments to achievements in the entertainment industry.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is located along fifteen blocks
of Hollywood Boulevard and three blocks of Vine Street
in the Hollywood neighborhood of the City of Los Angeles in
Southern California.
Ann Miller (1923-2004)
